Premier healthcare alliance experts to present at national events in October

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (October 7, 2009) – Leaders from the Premier healthcare alliance will speak around the country in October, sharing insights on supply chain, patient safety, clinical outcomes, healthcare finance and current healthcare reform legislation.

On October 7, Joe Pleasant, FHIMSS, senior vice president and chief information officer, will be a keynote speaker at the Global GS1^® Healthcare Conference in Hong Kong where he will discuss Premier's vision for high performing healthcare organizations by linking supply chain, patient safety and clinical outcomes. In July 2008, Premier became the first group purchasing organization to endorse the use of GS1 supply chain standards.

Premier Senior Vice President of Public Affairs Blair Childs will speak on October 14, serving as the opening keynote on "Healthcare Reform: The Implications for Healthcare Finance" during a Healthcare Finance News Virtual Conference and Expo, in collaboration with HIMSS. Educational topics will include tax exemption protection, positioning an organization to respond to a RAC audit, revenue cycle management innovations, healthcare finance in a tough economy and other important issues pertaining to healthcare finance.

Additionally, on October 14, Childs will speak at the IDN Performance Work Group meeting in Chicago and provide a Washington update on healthcare reform legislation.
