Center for Evidence Based Pharmacy Practice
Provides pharmacy members with new tools to help them control drug costs, collects and disseminates member-created and staff-created documents such as class reviews and guidelines, and provides presentation slides for P&T meetings and other pharmacy-oriented meetings
Components of these toolkits can include:
- Hospital-contributed prescriptive protocols
- "Clinical pearls" designed to quickly impact hospital drug budgets
- Reference lists of clinical literature designed to support the implementation of prescriptive protocols and clinical pearls
Influenza Toolkit
Contains information about influenza and the influenza vaccine, initiatives to increase influenza and pneumococcal immunization rates, contract and reimbursement information, and informational resources available from Premier regarding influenza and vaccinations
IV Therapy Toolkit
Contains portfolio and supplier specific information, including product offerings, implementation requirements and terms and conditions summaries
Pharmacy Buyer's Guide Toolkit
Provides a central repository for relevant resources to train new buyers and serves as a regularly updated reference for pharmacy staff
Drug budget development tools
Represent the top 85 percent of drug purchases, both on-contract and non-contract, based on July 2008 through June 2009 member purchases. Included are estimates of inflation indices for each line item based on July 2008 to July 2009 inflation figures corrected for the recent generic bid roll, recent changes in contract prices and anticipated first-time generic approvals.
