Member services
The Center for Evidence-Based Pharmacy Practice provides pharmacy members with new tools to help them control drug costs. Components of these toolkits can include:
- Hospital-contributed prescriptive protocols
- “Clinical pearls” designed to quickly impact hospital drug budgets
- Reference lists of clinical literature designed to support the implementation of prescriptive protocols and clinical pearls
- Presentation slides for P&T meetings and other pharmacy-oriented meetings
Further, the Center:
- Collects and disseminates member-created and staff-created documents such as class reviews and guidelines
- Coordinates Premier’s drug-related newsletters and continuing education programs
- Prepares inflationary indexes
- Coordinates listservs on pertinent topics of member interest

Manages Web access for members to request information
- Weekly Pharmacy Program updates contain information from the Center and other Medication Management team members
Premier pharmacy staff support
The Center also supports the activities of Premier's Pharmacy Specialists in their Supply Chain Improvement projects by:
- Researching questions arising from pharmacy projects
- Providing and updating a centralized, Web-based library of:
- Clinical literature citations
- Treatment guidelines
- Decision support tools
- Hospital-contributed prescriptive protocols, algorithms, and policies & procedures
- Presentation slides
- “Tricks of the trade”
- Savings summaries from previous engagements
